What others say about us

Nicky is perfect host of perfect residence. Nicky is knowledgeable and extremely agreeable. Her apartment is a short walk to Salamanca and Hobart’s CBD. It is very well appointed, warm and cosy, easy to cook a fab meal with fresh Tassie stuff. But we chose the easy option a few times….. almost next door to great cafe for breakfast and a pizza place for dinner. Thanks

Peggy

We had a great two days at Pretoria House. It is definitely Position, Position, Position! Set amongst Battery Point’s prime homes, just minutes from coffee shops, bakery and Hobart wharf, this is an ideal spot for soaking up the real Hobart. It was also a true home away from home with every detail covered. Immaculate and very warm. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends.

We had a very brief stay (only 2 nights) but were made very welcome and the house was extremely comfortable. Nicky made herself available but respected our privacy. The home was roomy and warm. Great location! Many thanks Nicky.

Everything about Pretoria was perfect for our stay. Great position with short or easy walk to all places of interest, spacious, with two extremely comfortable queen bedrooms, large sitting and dining area with kitchen and all our needs plus a sun filled garden. Nicky is bright and helpful but left us alone. Friends visited and said ‘how did you find this great place?’ We’ll be back!

Our family of four, including two teenage sons, had a wonderful five night stay at Pretoria House over Easter. The location is fantastic with Salamanca Markets and the waterfront only a few minutes walk away. There is a lovely cafe a couple of doors down and a great Thai restaurant, Monsoon, a few doors past that.

Nicky was friendly and helpful – dropping down some winter woollies for our trip to Bruny Island and Easter eggs on Easter Sunday. All in all a perfect spot for your Hobart holiday.

Staying here was a little bit like being famous. As the house is in many of the guide books and walks through historical Battery Point, people stopped at the front gate to take photos frequently.

We had a great stay at Pretoria. I travelled with my partner and mother-in-law, and we stayed here for two nights. Having two separate bedrooms and living/kitchen space was important, and Pretoria ticked those boxes. The presentation of the house was to hotel standard, but didn’t feel impersonal.

Nicky’s welcome book was useful, and the house rules section was handy. The location is the bees knees, with a two second walk to coffee and a five minute walk down Kelly’s Steps into the market on Saturday. Nicky took the time to introduce herself, and was friendly without being intrusive.

Would I recommend this to my family and friends? I already have.
